The North Croydon Community Centre FUNdraiser and Memorial Service

Following the success of Transported at The Croydonites Festival in 2024, Peace of MIND were invited back to perform again in 2025. After creating a thoughtful, tense and honest piece of mostly visual theatre exploring the impact of public transport on mental health, the group decided that their next show should be… a comedy!

From January to July 2025 they created characters, relationships and scenes that formed the basis of this play.

Performances:

11th October – The Front Room Croydon, for Croydonites

17th November – Stanley Arts (https://stanleyarts.org/event/the-north-croydon-community-centre-fundraiser/)

As with all things good, the North Croydon Community Centre is under threat from funding cuts. Whilst its members don’t always see eye-to-eye, they’ve come together to try to raise the money to save their beloved Centre. With the clock ticking, today is the last chance to reach their fundraising target.

It’s also an opportunity to share memories of their dear friend Mr Pimmer, the Centre’s longest standing member, who recently died at a mere 98 years old.

Will this chaotic group of misfits really be able to raise the hundreds of thousands of pounds they need by the end of lunchtime?

Or will memories soon be all they have left..?

This show was made possible by MIND, the National Lottery Community Fund and Croydonites Festival
