Storytellers – An exhibition at The Museum of Croydon

February 1 @ 10:30 am - April 30 @ 5:00 pm

Free

Good Wolf are putting on an exhibition! As part of The Museum of Croydons ‘What’s Your Croydon’ year of programming, we will be taking over the Croydon Now Gallery for 3 months starting from the 1st February. The exhibition will be open during Museum opening hours

There will also be a range of events and displays linked to the exhibition in Croydon Library, who have been part of this project.

Croydon has a rich history of storytelling, the legacy of which is a vibrant culture of storytelling today!  Discover the famous writers who have been educated, grown up, worked and lived in Croydon. Appreciate the many ways in which people of Croydon have told, and continue to tell, stories.  Explore themes from the Museum‘s archive such as storytelling as propaganda, and storytelling which puts Croydon on the map!

Walk the streets of Croydon with Sherlock Holmes, see how the fairies of Mary Cicely Barker inspire us today and find out which Neil Gaiman story is set in East Croydon.

Between February and April there will be writing workshops, live performance and storytelling, plus arts, crafts and reading support for younger children, with sessions during school holidays, plus Saturday interactive sessions for families including a look at the murder mystery writers, fantasy, propaganda, spoken word and opportunities to share our own Croydon stories. Watch out for updates on workshop dates and our young writers competition!
